AKINRUNTAN (OBAT OIL) DYNASTY IN TATTERS: FAMILY IN CHAOS PART ONE

 By Adebayo Somuyiwa/London

Despite their father being an oil magnate, Obat’s children have led a very wayward, immoral and ruthless lifestyle in the United Kingdom. Identity theft, Fraud and Adultery are just some of their hallmarks. It is a far cry from their so called wealthy and well-cultured background.

For example, Mobola Akinruntan had been apprehended twice for shoplifting in London. According to Police report made available to African Interest, Mobola was arrested for shoplifting at ASDA in Dagenham, Essex in 2003 and once held at the Romford Police Station in the United Kingdom in 6th September 2004 for shop lifting in Marks and Spencer. Mobola has also being  a party to a number of fraudulent activities that included the use of pseudonyms names and fake documents to obtain credit from different companies and theft (which she has a criminal record for). Mobola though attended the Olabisi Onabanjo University, dropped out of school.

Like her younger sister, Mr. Akinruntan’s first child, Olufunmilayo Akinruntan’s is married to two different men for the sake of leave to remain in the United Kingdom. She is known for arranging sham marriages for Nigerians looking to live in the United Kingdom. Both daughters live in their father’s house in West London and are notorious party goers. They do not work and rely on the United Kingdom’s benefit system.extract from her police record

African Interest investigation revealed that the genesis of Mobola Akinruntan’s marital problems started from her family’s insistence on her husband to adopt the child of one of her brothers. The intention was for the child to obtain British Citizenship.

According to a source close to the Akinruntan’s family, the depressing and somewhat chilling aspect of this saga is their father’s apparent support of their wayward lifestyle. He recently ordered his daughter, Mobola Akinruntan, to abduct his grandchildren from London and to leave her marital home when he heard that his son-in-law had refused to adopt one of his grandchildren for immigration purposes. Efforts to speak with his son-law Ayodeji Fonawopo proved abortive.

African Interest’s attempt to get Mr. Akinruntan’s side of the story was unsuccessful and we shall try to get Mr. Akinruntan.

Pathetic!! These are not cultured people. These are guttersnipes that stole money and have the guts to act as though they are superior to the rest of us. Shame on this family!!

  2. Tos says:

I dont understand why some people like to the downfall of others. Every family has its own problems but in-laws going through this kind of forum to ridicule the family that gave you their daughter in marriage because of a minor dispute is disgusting.

I will advise everyone to be careful with the kind of comments we post of issues such as this.

  3. bin says:

  4. Saa says:

This is really unfair.AYODEJI FONAWOPO,I personally know that is your handwork,do blood runs through your veins at all…Anyway God will judge.

  5. femi says:

  7. Jz says:

Call a spade a spade. This is the same way they finished our money in Nigeria and now we are protecting them. They neen to be arrested and locked up for years(akinruntan my Ass)

  8. Jz says:

Baba God needs to purnish these people

  9. Duke says:

I knew you were trouble from the very first day i saw you at Yomi’s wedding in 2004. I am not sure what made Mobola to marry an arrogant idiot like you but i guess she eventually made the right decision.
Grow up, move on and stop been a child. Every sane human being knows that this story is untrue. I am very close to the Akinruntan’s. I remembered saying to my brother in 2004 that you look, talk and sound like trouble. I guess i was right.
Please ask her to forgive you and move on. I would not have bothered to add my comment if not that you decided to include her entire family which is so unfair.

  10. Remi says:

All lies bitterness will get you nowhere!!!

  11. Ijay says:

Mobola was my schoolmate at command in Ibadan and she was a sweet, decent girl whom i admired. I insist that these are all lies. Xcape II lives on.

  12. Yinka k says:

Watever everyone is saying about Akinruntan’s family they should refrence God when the lord is with you nobody can go against you.

  13. Moji Kuye says:

There is nothing you guys can say about my uncle and his kids, is it because God has blessed him big time, you guys are so jelous of him. All this stuffs you guys saying about this family is lies upon lies shame on you haters, and God will continue to bless the household.

  14. Ola says:

May GOD continue to enlarge the family but the children should conduct themselves in such a role model attitude and stop tarnishing the visionary and good foundation their great father as laid down. Yomi is promising son but Femi really sucks,he is lost his sense of decency with no conscience,no fear of God, maltreating his staff, maximizing profit through fraudulent ways, living fake life. Don’t pull down ur papa company, open ur eyes.
