ECDC’s National Technical Assistance Project

Build bridges, build your organization, and build your community

Apply to MITA today! MITA is a different approach to Technical Assistance (TA) provision for Ethnic Community-Based Organizations (ECBOs)/Mutual Assistance Associations (MAAs).

In 2009, ECDC was awarded funding from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to provide innovative technical assistance to ECBOs from around the country.  The goal of this initiative is to provide intensive one-on-one Technical Assistance (TA) to Ethnic Community-Based Organizations (ECBOs) and/or Mutual Assistant Associations (MAAs), in order to enhance their capacity to serve more refugees with comprehensive, quality services that are well-managed and well-resourced.  ECDC’s Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks to identify five new organizations in FY 2011 to receive technical assistance under the MITA program, pending approval and availability of funding from ORR.

If selected, each organization will receive customized  TA assistance with  values ranging from $5,000 to $10,000,  and a TA package that can address up to five areas of capacity building with the following tools:  site visits from national TA experts; a thorough assessment of the organization’s assets, opportunities, resource gaps, and development of a TA plan of action; development and participation in the MITA network, including conference calls and telephone TA support; and follow up evaluation and measurement assistance from ECDC, the lead organization.

The MITA Program is intended to support organizations that provide services to populations with ORR eligibility. Recently formed ECBOs are encouraged to apply, and applicants need not be ORR grantees to participate in MITA.

To apply, please go to: www.ecdcinternational.org and click on: FY 2011 MITA APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS for more information, and FY 2011 MITA APPLICATION FORM to apply. Applications should be submitted by Tuesday, August 31, 2010 to: mita@ecdcinternational.org. If you have any further questions, please email us at: mita@ecdcinternational.org.
