LETTER TO Babatunde O. Gbadamosi…….THE BITTER TRUTH…..

Jaiyeola Ajasa/Jaiyeola Street
Out of the ashes of corrupt politicians of the past should you emerge. Your strength should be a brand of authenticity that owes nothing to the robber barons. An outspokenness that has polish and substance. When other politicians are prone to cut and dice society, you should be diverse and fluid. May your road continue to be rough as you aspire to greater heights. I decry your tight embrace and enthusiasm for all that is unholy in the PDP. The administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan JP has not being a panacea to our social, economic and political problems. On this issue it will be a mistake to be sanguine. If you cannot be a maverick and accept this bitter truth, then with politicians like you, we are still in need of a spoonful of sugar.

I am not an economist. The last book I read on economics was O’level Economics by O. A. Lawal. And that was ages ago. In a country where #1 trillion is missing. $20 million is missing. Stella Oduah is milking the Aviation industry dry. The Oil Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke is awfully corrupt and untouchable. Her sons are living like kings in America, complete with private jet travels, luxury ship vacations and frolicking with international celebrities like Dbanj, Neyo and Cecil Hammond. The members of the House Of Assembly are paid the wrath of God salary. 30% of the budget is for their up keep, they are less than 1% of the population. A clueless Government with inconsistent economic policies. Sum all these together; there is bound to be far reaching economic ramifications. It is the simple law of unintended consequences. The problem with our economy is not Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi! The bigger problem is Nigeria’s credibility. It is hard to do business with a country where uncertainty plaques not just the future, but also the past as well. What are the measures put in place to quash hyperinflation? Suspending SLS does not deal with the fundamental problem. Getting rid of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will.

You my dear friend, should understand the pessimism towards this Government. Our nerves are on edge because we realize that the bottom is falling out of our beloved country. The prognosis is dim and nothing to be excited about. The environment is far from being healthy. That you are angry with us on JAIYEOLA STREET is bordering on cruelty. You say you abhor corruption. Yet, you are a Nigerian politician. The Chichidoodoo in Ayi Kwei Armah’s , Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, readily comes to mind. Nigerian politicians are notoriously bad at underestimating the Nigerian people. If all you say about SLS is true, so are the worries about a Government that tolerated him for this long. Read and learn. We are no more the complacent bunch. The notion that our generation is ‘the dog that will not bark’ is being quickly put to rest. We are a generation stricken by poor state of the country. We are now finding the power and the voice to do something about it. Thanks to the Social Media. I vigorously disagree with the politics of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. I vigorously disagree with the way GEJ JP is ruining Nigeria. I pledge to Nigeria my country. To be faithful loyal and honest. You should too……………………………. Love you like a brother. Just my two cents.

Nothing in this world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. Dr Martin Luther King, jr.

This one for Olayinka Olaribigbe and Ajasa Odunayo . Congratulations.
